FRCBOM
Built for FRC build seasons

The BOM your build team actually uses.

FRCBOM turns your Onshape assembly into a live workshop dashboard. Materials, processes and progress — without the spreadsheet.

// FEATURES

Less context-switching. More built robot.

Onshape-first, dashboard-second. Every role on the team — designers, machinists, mentors — sees the same picture.

Live BOM, no exports

Webhook-driven sync from Onshape. Edit a part in CAD, watch it appear on the dashboard a second later. Materials, processes and quantities flow in automatically.

+ Belly pan v3 added

– Old swerve hub removed

Per-system progress

Drivetrain. Arm. Intake. Each subsystem gets its own dashboard, its own progress bar, its own queue.

3D you can click

Click a part in the BOM, see it in the assembly. Click it in the assembly, jump to the BOM row.

COTS & orders

Auto-link COTS parts to FRC Orders, then export grouped vendor CSVs in one click.

Roles done right

Owner invites, admins manage, members get a focused workshop view. No shared accounts.

OAuth, not API keys

Sign in with Google, connect Onshape with OAuth. No shared keys to rotate when a senior graduates.

// WORKFLOW

CAD on Monday. Cut on Tuesday.

Three steps from a fresh Onshape document to a workshop dashboard the whole team can read.

  1. STEP 01
    Link

    Add the FRCBOM panel to your Onshape doc

    Sign into Onshape with OAuth — once. Open the side panel, pick a robot, link the assembly to a system. That's it.

  2. STEP 02
    Sync

    Materials and processes flow in automatically

    Edit a part in CAD, the dashboard updates in seconds. Webhooks do the heavy lifting; we cache so Onshape's quota doesn't.

  3. STEP 03
    Build

    The shop marks parts done. The team sees progress.

    Mentors and captains watch the per-subsystem progress bars climb. Toasts pop when a part is finished. The critical path is obvious.

// FAQ

Common questions

Do I need API keys?

No. Click Connect Onshape in Settings — that runs OAuth. Done. We don't ask for FeatureScript or custom property IDs either.

What does the demo team include?

A throwaway team with sample robots, an admin password and a member password. It self-destructs on the timestamp shown in the demo modal — no cleanup on your part.

How does it handle multi-document robots?

Each system links to one Onshape assembly. A robot can have any number of systems, each pointing at a different document or a different element of the same document.

Who can edit the BOM?

Admins and the owner. Members get a focused workshop view: filter by COTS / in-house, mark parts done, download per-machine drawings — but they can't change part assignments or settings.

Is it really free?

Yes — for FRC teams. Hosting is paid for by the project. If your team finds it useful, contributions are welcome but not required.
