Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a legal agreement between you and FRCBOM (“FRCBOM”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) governing your access to and use of the FRCBOM website and web application (the “Service”). By creating an account, joining a team, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility & Accounts

You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep it up to date.
You are responsible for safeguarding your password and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.
If you are a minor (under 18, or the age of majority where you live), you may use the Service only with the involvement and consent of a parent, guardian, coach, mentor, or school who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.
Coaches, mentors, and team administrators are responsible for their team members’ use of the Service and for obtaining any consents required by their school or organization.

2. The Service

FRCBOM provides Bill of Materials, part-numbering, inventory, and CAD-visualization tools for FIRST Robotics Competition teams, including optional integrations with Google (sign-in) and Onshape (CAD data). We may add, change, or remove features at any time. FRCBOM is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by FIRST, Onshape, PTC, or Google. All trademarks are the property of their respective owners.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the Service in violation of any applicable law or regulation;
Access data or accounts that are not yours, or attempt to bypass authentication or security;
Interfere with, disrupt, or place an unreasonable load on the Service or its infrastructure (including abusing third-party API quotas such as Onshape’s);
Reverse-engineer, scrape, or copy the Service except as permitted by law;
Upload malicious code or content that is unlawful, infringing, or harmful;
Use the Service to infringe the intellectual-property or privacy rights of others.

We may suspend or terminate access that violates these Terms or that we reasonably believe is harmful to the Service or other users.

4. Your Content

You retain all rights to the content and data you submit to the Service (“Your Content”), including BOMs, part numbers, inventory, and data accessed from your connected Onshape account. You grant FRCBOM a limited, non-exclusive license to host, process, display, and transmit Your Content solely as needed to operate and provide the Service to you and your team. You are responsible for ensuring you have the rights to submit Your Content and that it does not violate any law or third-party right.

5. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party services, including Google and Onshape. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services, and your connection or use of them is at your own risk. You authorize FRCBOM to access those services on your behalf to the extent you grant permission.

6. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use information and is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

7. Availability & Changes

The Service is provided on an “as available” basis. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the Service at any time, with or without notice. We are not liable for any unavailability of the Service or loss of data resulting from such changes. You are responsible for maintaining your own backups of important data.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR THAT DATA (INCLUDING BOMS AND PART NUMBERS) WILL BE ACCURATE. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR VERIFYING ANY OUTPUT BEFORE RELYING ON IT FOR MANUFACTURING, ORDERING, OR COMPETITION.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, FRCBOM AND ITS OPERATORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD $50. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless FRCBOM and its operators from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service, Your Content, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends; sections that by their nature should survive (including ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law) will survive.

12. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and the competent courts of Tel Aviv-Jaffa, Israel, will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, except where mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence require otherwise. If you are a consumer located in the United States, the European Union, or elsewhere, nothing in these Terms deprives you of the protection of mandatory provisions of the law of your place of residence, and you may also bring claims in the courts of that jurisdiction where required by law.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice where appropriate. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
